Support for New Migrants

Mon, 10/11/2010 - 15:09

Support for New Migrants

RMC has long been facilitating integration of new migrants into the host community. Until 2010 specific funding was used to define a project group from EEA under the Migrant Impact Fund. Though the MIF funding for this project has ended, RMC still continues to deliver services to these new migrant communities under funding from Wolverhampton City Council, which, since March 2011, has funded a broad replacement service we call “The New Migrant Support Project”.

The clients that we have been assisting under this project include EEA nationals, especially those from Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Slovakia and Slovenia (A8)and Bulgaria and Romania (A2) citizens as well as people who have come via family reunion, work permit holders or student visa holders and other new migrants.

RMC advises clients of their rights and entitlements in the fields of citizenship, education, employment, voluntary return, family support, benefits, housing, healthcare and other aspects of their welfare.
For more information please call 01902 311554 or come to the drop-in session in the morning. Please note we are closed to the public on Wednesdays.
