As an Outreach volunteer you will be working to enable and empower newly arrived refugees to settle into their new communities with confidence. You will work closely with the caseworker, floating support workers and the project coordinator to provide a wraparound service to our clients across the black country. You will assist cleints to attend appointments and access services with ease, providing orientation support, interpretation and advocacay assistance where required.
As a Volunteer interpreter you will be assisting the caseworkers and advisors who support asylum seekers, refugees and migrants overcome a wide range of issues. You will be an essential member of the team, supporting clients and staff overcome language barriers, enabling RMC to provide the access to support which our clients need.
As a Volunteer Caseworker you will be assisting and advising asylum seekers, refugees and migrants with a wide range of issues but with a particular emphasis on benefits, housing, employment, immigration and other issues. You will be supporting clients with completing forms, documents and applications, writing letters on behalf of clients and signposting to other agencies.
As a Health Volunteer you will be advising asylum seekers, refugees and migrants to access health provision and health information. You will helping clients in registering with GPs and dentists; translating and explaining health related letters; assisting clients with arranging medical appointments and completing health related forms; as well as signposting clients to health services.
As an Employment Volunteer, you will be supporting our clients with preparing for the world of work. You will be helping clients on our ‘Building Better Opportunities’ programme and will provide support with helping clients to undertake job search, completing job application forms, writing CVs and helping to develop interview skills.
As a Well-Being Mentor, you will be supporting asylum seekers, refugees and migrants to access support with their mental health and wellbeing. You will have the opportunity to receive training from RMC to deliver and support our clients participating on a 6 week course 'Five Ways to Well-being'. This course will support clients in well-being issues, including tackling social isolation. RMC will be introducing this course in January 2017. You will be completing health needs assessments with clients and supporting clients to make action plans to improve their mental health and well-being.
