Volunteering at the Refugee and Migrant Centre offers you a unique experience to work with refugees, asylum seekers and migrants in a relaxed, yet professional environment. Whether you want to gain valuable work experience, develop new skills or do something rewarding, RMC can give you the opportunity to be a part of a committed team of volunteers and staff.
At RMC we rely heavily on volunteers to deliver the vital services that we offer to our clients. Our volunteers come from a variety of backgrounds and professions. Currently our volunteer team is made up of asylum seekers, refugees, professionals, students, graduates, retirees and unemployed. We welcome applications from anyone who has a desire to support the work of RMC.
We also encourage applicants who have additional languages to offer, as our clients come from such a diverse range of countries. In particular, we are always looking to recruit Polish, Lithuanian, Latvian and Russian speakers, as well as Farsi, Arabic, Amharic and Tigrinya speakers.
We ask that volunteers commit to a minimum of one day per week, as we invest time and resources in training our volunteers to deliver a professional service to our clients.
